Dear SBCUSD Families,
As we navigate the challenges of the Line Fire, we hope you and your loved ones are safe. We know that each family is making difficult decisions to ensure the wellbeing of your children, including the decision to attend school. We understand and support your decision.
We want to provide you with the latest updates regarding school operations tomorrow, September 10.
The following schools will be closed until further notice:
Bonnie Oehl Elementary School
Serrano Middle School
While these schools are closed, all other SBCUSD schools and offices remain open.
We understand this situation may bring concern, and we are here to support you. If your family is directly impacted or if you have any specific concerns, we encourage you to contact your child’s school for guidance or additional resources.
We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated with any new developments. Thank you for your patience, trust and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
If your child is absent from school due to the effects of the Line Fire, please remember to call or email your school office. During this emergency event, families will be given additional time to communicate with their school site in order to excuse absences.
Stay safe,
Mauricio V. Arellano
Superintendent
